Thunder Oak Cheese Farm

Thunder Oak Cheese Farm located in the gorgeous countryside of Slate River Valley has been making and selling cheese to Thunder Bay since 1955 and is the first farm in Ontario to produce Gouda cheese! Their award-winning Thunder Oak Gouda is a natural product made with fresh milk from the Schep’s own cows, there are no preservatives or added colouring. The Schep family warmly invites you to experience the tradition of Dutch cheesemaking.

Centennial Botanical Conservatory

The Centennial Botanical Conservatory is a multi-functional facility. The conservatory is a community gathering space, like a little vacation amidst the city, filled with tropical trees, shrubs and flowers! The benches inside the conservatory give you a chance to sit and enjoy the view! The facility is also a production facility where the beautiful plants and flowers that fill the city-owned flower pots and gardens scattered throughout the city in the summer are grown over the winter and spring. Accessible to all and a great place to visit year-round, the Conservatory was opened in 1967 by the Fort William Parks Board as a Centennial project, and it is a legacy to the citizens of Thunder Bay.

Northern Ontario Sport Fishing Centre

Located on the shore of the beautiful Lake of the Woods you will find the Northern Ontario Sportfishing Centre (NOSFC) featuring antique fishing equipment, local art, a freshwater aquarium, tourist information brochures and much more! The government dock is just down from the Sport Fishing Center, offering docking for those wishing to stop by and explore by boat. Here you will also find a nice picnic area located between the center and the docks perfect for enjoying a coffee or a picnic.

MS Kenora

The MS Kenora offers scenic tours of Lake of the Woods, docked right on the shoreline of Kenora’s Winkler Harbourfront. Their tours provide you with a scenic tour of Lake of the Woods experiencing its beauty and history, the tour even passes through Devil’s Gap. Egli's Sheep Farm

Egli’s Sheep Farm is located just outside of Dryden on Highway 17 W. What began as a small family-run farm has grown to become a much bigger manufacturing site. Egli’s features an animal park, which is open during the summer months as well as a store which sells a range of items made from wool and sheepskin.

Fort William Historical Park

Fort William Historical Park is one of the largest living history exhibits in North America! It is based on the fur trade that happened in the area around 1816 and today features 57 modern heritage buildings. The park is host to a variety of different activities throughout the year including The Great Rendezvous and Anishinaabe Keeshigun. Can’t make one of their scheduled events, don't worry the park is also open daily for you to create your own experience!

Winkler Harbourfront Park

The Winkler Harbourfront Park is just down from Main Street in Kenora and offers excellent views of Lake of the Woods from the rooftop pavilion or take a walk along to green belt to see the Husky the Muskie. Located in the park is a seasonal tourism information center where you can pick up some brochures or get information about Kenora’s events and highlighted spots.

The Whitewater Golf Club is laid out on 550 acres of excellent forested property, stretching north from the banks of the winding Kaministiquia River the fairways are routed close to its flowing waters. Offering 18 artfully designed holes, this course is a Tom McBroom design that debuted in 2005. Its pure beauty and excellent layout makes this course one for the books!
