Tunnel Island Trail
Tunnel Island Trail (Wass’say’Gaa’Boo) is located at a traditional gathering place with 8000 years of history. The trail offers a lesson in history, great scenery, and a chance to see local wildlife. Walk along the Winnipeg River and take a look at the Norman Dam. The trail is pet-friendly and the dogs are sure to enjoy a dip in the lake to cool off. There are many trails and loops to choose from. You can hike these trails year-round, but be aware that in the winter there are some slippery slopes. Terrain is moderate to high.
Tugboat Hallet
The Hallet is a 60 foot, 57 ton boat and was known as the largest, most powerful logging boat on Rainy Lake. The Hallet was used extensively in hauling logs. During an average year, the Tugboat made twenty round trips one hundred miles each, hauling 70,000 to 90,000 cords of wood a year, until 1974. The Hallet was then transported in portions by railway flatcar and reconstructed for the Pulp and Paper Mill in Fort Frances in 1983. Restoration was later completed by the Fort Frances Museum and Tugboat Hallet can now be viewed beside the Sorting Gap Marina on Front Street.

Tomahawk Lighthouse Museum
The Tomahawk Lighthouse is Morson’s oldest landmark. Built in the 1900s, the lighthouse helped safely steer watercraft from Kenora to Rainy River ports. It was operated by lighthouse keepers until its automation in 1946. In 1963, it was restored becoming an important landmark and it was moved to its present location at the end of Lighthouse Road, where it has been converted to a museum with artifacts pertaining to early lake travel.
