Summer vacations in Ontario's Sunset Country have something for everyone. Whether you're looking for an ultimate family vacation, couples getaway, gathering your friends for time away or planning a surprise for that special someone.

This region is the ultimate summer playground, though we consider ourselves fun year-round too!

Here's some information you may be wondering about Sunset Country in the summer months. Spoiler alert: it's awesome.

CANADA ISN'T ALWAYS COLD!

Summer in Sunset Country can actually reach quite high of temperatures. Our average temperatures across the region are 56.7(low) - 77.8(high).

Keep in mind these are average temperatures, and while the low appears very low, it would be considered unusually low temperatures anywhere past June 1st.

Our high temperatures can also reach 85 degrees fahrenheit. Perfect temperatures to be in the water as well as on the water!

SUMMER ESSENTIALS

We’ll make this list short and sweet!

  • Camera
  • Sunglasses
  • Baseball caps or sunhat
  • Rain coat (helps with cool breeze at night!)
  • Rain pants
  • Thermos for drinking water
  • Sunscreen
  • Sun shirts or layers to keep sun off you when needed
  • Shorts
  • Bathing suit
  • Non-specific warm weather clothing
  • Bug spray just in case!

THUNDERSTORMS

These fantastic displays of beauty from nature don’t happen regularly in Sunset Country, but when they do, they make their presence known.

As always, when the thunder roars, it's best to get indoors. At the very least, get yourself off of the water.

You’ll enjoy the show of nature much more when you’re out of harms way!

For regular rain, a rain jacket and pants will keep you fishing!
