Bigfoot
The Bigfoot Statue located in Vermilion Bay was moved to its location in 1982 standing 20 feet tall and weighing 3 tonnes, this giant statue is an eye-catcher in this small town. Owners Liz and Max Lang of Vermilion Bay say that the Bigfoot was built completely by hand by a local man several decades ago. The name of this man is unknown and his whereabouts is an even greater mystery. Nonetheless, this ode to the great North American Bigfoot stands proudly by the side of the highway and occasionally dresses up for different occasions, sometimes baring Canadian Flags or winter apparel, for the entertainment of passers-by.

Barwick Lighthouse
The Chapple Lighthouse was built on the waterfront in Barwick in 2003, symbolizing a time before the railway when most of the settlers and supplies arrived by steamers that came from Rat Portage (Kenora), across Lake of the Woods and up the Rainy River. Though built according to the blueprints provided by the Canadian Coast Guard, many of the bricks making up the structure's base have a history of their own, coming from the Barwick Hotel and the Dobie 4 block school. An official lighting took place in September of 2023 and now the light shines from dusk to dawn daily. Donors to the project are represented on small gold plaques on the model at the museum and are also etched into the lighthouse itself.
