Located just east of Hudson on Vermilion Lake, Bernier’s Beach offers a quiet getaway with restroom facilities and picnic tables.

A short 7 km drive from Highway 17A, Beauty Bay Golf Course is on the shores of Black Sturgeon Lake just northeast of Kenora, Ontario. The golf course offers a variety of picturesque views and challenges due to its stunning natural landscape that will keep you coming back time after time. This par 70 parkland-style 18-hole course nestled within the Canadian Shield is a great course for golfers of all levels. We also host a variety of leagues that foster community and grow our players' love for golf. In recent years we’ve made several upgrades to our course, including the addition of a new clubhouse overlooking the lake. It’s the perfect setting to unwind with a cold drink and light snack after your round. Beatty Park is located on 10th Street in Keewatin. Here one will find a picnic area, bandstand, public washrooms and floral gardens. Also nearby is a boat launch onto Portage Bay.

Bass Lake Park is a public recreational park with a variety of activities to enjoy. The park includes a baseball field, playground, beach with volleyball sand court, picnic shelter, barbecue pit, outhouse bathrooms and hiking trails.

The Chapple Lighthouse was built on the waterfront in Barwick in 2003, symbolizing a time before the railway when most of the settlers and supplies arrived by steamers that came from Rat Portage (Kenora), across Lake of the Woods and up the Rainy River. Though built according to the blueprints provided by the Canadian Coast Guard, many of the bricks making up the structure's base have a history of their own, coming from the Barwick Hotel and the Dobie 4 block school. An official lighting took place in September of 2023 and now the light shines from dusk to dawn daily. Donors to the project are represented on small gold plaques on the model at the museum and are also etched into the lighthouse itself.

The Atikokan Sportsmen's Conservation Club is a local volunteer organization that operates a fish hatchery dedicated to improving stocks of the most popular sports fish in the area. The hatchery, located beside Little Falls, is capable of hatching up to three million Walleye each spring. Local members will arrange a tour and explanation of the hatchery by appointment.
