Brodie Resource Library
Nestled conveniently behind City Hall and easily accessible via public transit, the Brodie Library stands as a vital cornerstone of Thunder Bay's south core. This historic library, Thunder Bay’s own Carnegie Library, was established in 1912 and has since played a significant role in the community's cultural and educational landscape. Within its walls, the Special Collections department offers a treasure trove of resources where visitors can delve into the rich tapestry of local history, exploring documents, photographs, and artifacts that highlight the region's past. Moreover, the library houses the Indigenous Knowledge Centre, an inviting space dedicated to celebrating and sharing Indigenous cultures and traditions. Throughout the year, this center hosts a variety of engaging events, workshops, and educational programs designed to foster understanding and appreciation of Indigenous heritage. With its blend of historical significance and contemporary community engagement, the Brodie Library not only preserves the past but also cultivates a vibrant future for all who visit.
