The Municipality of Machin is made up of 3 communities all located on the beautiful Eagle Lake. Eagle River, Minnitaki and Vermilion Bay are all located in the heart of Sunset Country on the Trans Canada Highway. Vermilion Bay is located at the start of Highway 105, which leads to Ear Falls and Red Lake. The population is roughly 1200 people.

The Visitor Information Centre right at the entrance to the Municipality of Machin office building. Helpful maps are available - summer hours of operation are 8:00am - 4:00pm.
There are several businesses in Vermilion Bay that will meet all your shopping needs. The community also has a public boat launch on Eagle Lake, a recreation center, a volunteer fire department, a medical centre, a Liquor Store, Post Office, and more.
There are also many attractions and things to do in Vermilion Bay. In the summer you can go fishing, attend a special event or festival, visit Blue Lake Park or attend a church service. Hunters come out in the fall for their annual hunting trip. During the winter you can go snowmobiling, ice fishing or cross-country skiing.
