Are you looking for a drive-to lodge with a variety of lakes to fish?

Try Canada North Lodge! They offer both Housekeeping and American Plans on Little Bear Lake on the nine-lake Woman River Chain. 

The Woman River Chain of Lakes consists of 8 interconnected lakes: Little Bear Lake, Loon Lake, Middle Lake, Big Bear Lake, Little Woman Lake, Big Woman Lake, Swain Lake, Washagomis Lake. The ninth lake, Snakeweed Lake, which is south of the lodge by road is not accessible by boat. All in all, the chain has 50 miles of navigable water! See a map of the Woman River Chain of Lakes.

And if the lake chain isn’t enough water for you, you can fish on one of ten portage lakes! The hike to the portage lakes is short. The boats and motors are on site and all you need is your fishing gear. The lakes offer excellent walleye, northern pike, and smallmouth bass.

Fishing at Canada North Lodge

On the Woman River Chain, you can fish for walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass and lake trout. There are walleyes up to 9lb, northern pike up to 25lb, lake trout up to 22lb, and exceptional smallies. The lakes are long and narrow which makes for sheltered fishing even on windy days. The lakes range from shallow to 130’ deep have many points, reefs, islands, river inlets and river outlets.

The Accommodations and Plans at Canada North Lodge

Canada North Lodge offers Housekeeping Packages and a variety of American Plan Packages.

Housekeeping Plans:

They have two cabins that sleep 4 each. There is also a 6-person housekeeping cabin for rent.

American Plan Packages:

Canada North Lodge offers these AP Packages.

  • Modified American Plan Package: Includes a cabin, home-cooked meals served family style and daily maid service. No boat included.
  • Unguided American Plan Package: Includes a cabin, home-cooked meals served family style and daily maid service, a 16’ boat, 25 hp motor, and gasoline.
  • Full American Plan Package:  Includes a cabin, home-cooked meals served family style, daily maid service, a 16’ boat, 25 hp motor, gasoline, fish finder, shore lunch, one guide per 2 persons, fish filleting service and freezer service.

Canada North Lodge also offers bear hunting and moose hunting packages.

Walleyes are plentiful on the Woman River Chain of Lakes.

After a great day out on the lake fishing, you can head to the main lodge where there’s a large dining room, a roomy conference and game room, camp store, and an outside deck facing the lake which is a great place to socialize and relax. The game/conference room is great for playing a card or board games, watching movies, playing pool or just socializing. Basketball, horseshoes, and croquet are also available.
