The Rainy Lake Mermaid can only be accessed by boat. In 1932, Gordon A. Schlichting, a Minneapolis architect, carved the Mermaid while he was a student spending the summers on Rainy Lake. Located in Silver Island Narrows, near Copenhagen Island, the Mermaid watches over the comings and goings of the lake. Constructed out of steel rods, old boat props, and cement, the Mermaid is truly a work of art.

Rahill Beach, located just off Highway 125 between Balmertown and Cochenour is the perfect place to spend a sunny summer day relaxing with family and friends, featuring a well-maintained sandy beach, playground, fire pits, BBQs, covered picnic areas and washrooms.

The trail offers a great view of Rabbit Lake and the surrounding nature. One may choose to hike, cycle, or ski during the winter months. The trailhead starts on Rabbit Lake and there is 2-10 km trails with moderate-high terrain. There is also a public washroom and playground at Garrow Park. The trail connects to Rotary Way Trail.

Pronger Park is a beautiful private location where you can spend the day in the shade of the many trees in the area. Offering a large green space it is perfect for a family gathering or catching up with friends. The park also features a playground, as well as biking, hiking, ski and snowshoe trails. The park is pet-friendly, with lots of room to play with your dog. Washrooms and waste bins are also available.

Located on the shores of Rainy Lake, Point Park is the perfect location to enjoy countless hours of relaxation, recreation, fishing, swimming, and even some camping. Located on the park's office building you will find a map outlining all the outstanding amenities featured throughout the park, including tenting areas, RV campground, a beautiful sandy beach, playground, horseshoe pits, showers, barbecues, and restrooms. While exploring the beauty of the park be sure to stop and get an iconic picture in the 'Big Chair'. Docking is available within a mile from the park at Sorting Gap Marina as well as numerous stores, sports fields, ball diamonds, and other park areas.

Plumridge Park boasts sprinklers for kids, a playground and an open field. It is located on St. Charles Street.

The Pickle Lake Health Clinic is a modern facility boasting an emergency treatment room and regular daily patient services. The Clinic building also houses a fully equipped dental office, a fitness centre, and an office for health providers such as representatives of the Northwestern Health Unit and Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre’s Community Counselling and Addiction Services, who visit on a regular basis.
