Kenora has a wide variety of year-round events to choose from. There's a festival for everyone. Choose from hockey or fishing tournaments to music concerts to fireworks. Children are sure to have fun all summer long while they are out of school. Canada Day Celebrations every July 1st feature many activities for kids and adults alike. Below is a summary of some of the Special Events and Festivals held in Kenora.
Kenora Winter Carnival - Beginning of March
Enjoy driving or walking by the snow sculptures that will eventually be judged, eat some free chili, go ice skating, watch fireworks and more.
North American First Nations Tournament of Champions - March or April
Huge hockey tournament held at the Kenora Recreation Centre Arena on Easter weekend.
Shrine Circus - Beginning of May
Great fun for the whole family. Held at the Kenora Recreation Centre.
Home & Leisure Show - First week of May

Kenora Dog Show - Third weekend in June
Kenora District Dog Club presents its annual Dog Show at the Keewatin arena. For more information call Diane at 807-468-3791.
Canada Day Celebrations - July 1
Celebrations include fireworks, games for the children, crafts, face painting, live entertainment, concession stands and more. Held at the Harbourfront.
Cemetery Walking Tours -July and August
Walking tour of the Lake of the Woods Cemetery for more information call 807-467-2067.
Harbourfront Concert Series - Thursday evenings July and August.
Performances are held at the Whitecap Pavilion at the Harbourfront.
Shake the Lake - August Long Weekend (the beginning of August or end of July).
Huge Long Weekend celebrations. Day activities include children's activities, a Classic Car Show, an Antique Wooden Boat parade, Pong tournament, and vendors. Fireworks are also on Sunday night. Diamonds & Ice Tournament. Held at the Kenora Harbourfront. Saturday evening is an age of majority live concert under the Whitecap Pavilion.
Kenora Classic Car Show - August Long Weekend.
Held the weekend of Shake the Lake. Take a close look at the beautifully restored classic cars all along the green belt of the downtown Harbourfront.
Annual Diamonds & Ice - Hockey, baseball & golf tournament. Held at the Keewatin ball diamond and arena. Held during Shake the Lake on the August Long Weekend. LOWISA Sailing Regatta - First week in August.
A week-long regatta on Lake of the Woods.
Kenora Agricultural Society Fair - Usually 1st or 2nd weekend in August.
Held at the Kenora Curling Club and Central Community Club. Come see the finest crops grown this year. Midway, exhibits, animals and displays. For more information, email the Kenora Agricultural Society.
Kenora Bass International Fishing Tournament - Week after the August Long
Teams compete for great monetary prizes. Watch the fishermen weigh in and see who the top contenders are. Beer gardens. Held on Lake of the Woods. Activities are held under the Whitecap Pavilion on the Harbourfront. Held on Thursday, Friday & Saturday after the Long weekend.
