Nestor Falls, Ontario is situated on Highway 71, about 60 miles north of Fort Frances and International Falls. To the west of the town lies famous Sabaskong Bay, Lake of the Woods and Caliper Lake and to the east, you'll find Crow (Kakagi) Lake. The surrounding lakes are teeming with a variety of fish, including walleye, large and smallmouth bass, muskie, northern pike, lake trout and crappie. Many fishing experts believe that the next world record muskie will be caught in the Nestor Falls area. Hunting in the area is also very popular. You'll have no trouble finding whitetail deer, black bear, moose, grouse, and waterfowl. There are a variety of resorts and lodges to choose from - drive-in resorts, boat-in island lodges, fly-in camps and outposts and hotels/motels. Many of the resorts and lodges cater to families. You'll find numerous activities for the whole family to enjoy - canoeing, kayaking, swimming, boating, fishing, waterskiing, hiking and more.
You can use a local air service to fly you into a remote lake for a day of fishing and longer if you'd like to camp. If you're staying in Nestor Falls, try taking a flightseeing tour of the area - the view is amazing! There are many fly-in lodges and outposts that fly out of Nestor Falls to such lakes as Ajax, Atikwa, Beaverhouse, Cameron, Kay, Kishkutena, and Rowan. You can also boat to outposts on Lake of the Woods.
