Ontario Wilderness Houseboat Rentals is based in Morson, Ontario at Gill’s Morson Marina, in the heart of Lake of the Woods, only 30 miles from the Minnesota/Ontario border. We offer 9 houseboats – from a small 44’ X 12’ houseboat to a deluxe 64’ X 16’ houseboat with a penthouse and everything in between - we have something to suit all group sizes and budgets!
Bait, ice, fishing licences, tackle, equipment and commonly forgotten items are available on-site before you embark on a trip of a lifetime! Our crew will help you load your gear, get you acquainted with the equipment on board and make sure you are comfortable before you head out on your adventure! We also help you plot out your course, show you some great fishing spots and recommend some great beaches in protected bays and calm waters to tie up. If you are a first-time renter, we will ride along with you to your first stop and help you get tied up for the night. A marine radio keeps you in touch with the local weather as well as our base station in case of any problems.
Once you have completed your orientation, you are the Captain! Cruise at your own pace, stop when and where you want! Explore more of Lake of the Woods in one week than you thought possible! You can sleep on a different beach each night of your trip – quite a change from the common cabin rentals and resorts in the area! Cruise to relax, Cruise to explore or cruise to fish! Spend the day on the top deck with a good book, surrounded in the beauty of this natural landscape and so far away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Keep your eyes out as you cruise as Bald Eagles, Deer, Moose, Black Bear, Wolves, Beavers and even Lynx are found in this area! Spend sunrise to sunset fishing for many species including Walleye, Muskie, Northern Pike, Perch, Crappie, Small Mouth Bass and many more! There is something to please everyone in your group with a houseboat adventure. It truly is “The Only Way to Cruise the Woods!”

- Houseboat Rentals: Our Ontario Wilderness Houseboat base is located at Gill's Morson Marina on Hanson Bay on pristine Lake of the Woods.
- Walleye: Anywhere between Miles Island and Comegan Island off of submerged sunken reefs and points great for walleye.
- Northern Pike: Around Horseshoe Island with reefs and in shallow, weedy bays, it's great fishing for northern pike.
- Muskie: Sabaskong Bay offers some of the best muskie fishing in the world. Muskie inhabit rock reefs during the summer.
- Smallmouth Bass: Late spring offers unparalleled smallmouth bass fishing. Around Fadden Island is great for bass.
- Largemouth Bass: Extensive growth of wild rice and weeds makes this the perfect habitat for largemouth bass.
- Crappie: Crappie can be caught in the channel leading into the bay on the west side.
- Perch: Perch can be found throughout Lake of the Woods. They are usually found when fishing for walleye.
- Deer: Trophy whitetail deer are abundant on the islands of Lake of the Woods and while guides are not necessary, they can help you get the deer of your dreams!
- Duck: Experience duck hunting you have always dreamed about, on Lake of the Woods in the heart of Sunset Country.
- Grouse: Once you have your limit of ducks, hop the islands for grouse. Look for islands with birch stands behind sand beaches.
