J and M Camp
Why You'll Love It
J and M Camp is located at the end of Swain Lake, which is at the end of the Woman Lake/River System in the Ear Falls area of Ontario's Sunset Country. You are picked up at the Woman River Landing where you embark on a 43-mile boat ride (about an hour and a half) up the Woman River System to your cabin. The 2 bedroom cabin holds a maximum of 4 people with one double bed and one twin bed in each room. It is furnished, has running water, fridge, stove, freezer, bed linen, pillows and all your cooking and eating utensils. The cabin has solar lights with a generator back-up and a wood stove. There is a covered fish house for cleaning your fish and a BBQ and propane cooker for deep frying it to perfection! The camp also has a shower house and an outhouse is located behind the cabin.
We provide a 14 foot Lund with live well, 25 HP motor and gas. Before arriving at the landing, you must have already purchased your fishing and/or hunting license and any bait you'll need. We are remote so we do not have any phone or cell service at camp. Fish for walleye, northern pike, lake trout and perch on the various lakes that make up this lake chain. You can portage over to Jasper Lake where you will find another boat to tour around and fish from. Please note that Jasper Lake is strictly a "catch and release" fishery. For our bear hunters, bear baits are set-up in our bear management area in time for the hunting season. We pre-bait the stands prior to your arrival so the bears are already coming into the baits when you arrive.

- Cabin Rentals (Housekeeping): The cabin has all your cooking and eating utensils, bed linens, dish and bath towels. It also has hot and cold running water and a shower house.
- Walleye: Fish for walleye on Swain Lake or Washagomis Lake. You can also fish for walleye at our portage lake, Jasper Lake which is a 'catch and release' lake.
- Northern Pike: Fish for big northern pike on Swain or Washagomis Lakes, which are part of the Woman River System.
- Lake Trout: Fish for trophy lakers or smaller trout for eating at J and M Camp.
- Perch: Have fun fishing for perch. They make for a great fish fry as well.
- Black Bear: We have baited sites and ladder tree stands. We provide assistance with skinning and freezer service. Hunters must bring their own safety harness. No harness, no tree stand; safety first.
