Beautiful Blue Lake Park Has One of the Best Beaches Around!

Blue Lake Park is located just northwest of Vermilion Bay. Blue Lake offers a beautiful sandy beach with water that is so clear you can see the bottom at six metres. Summer fun in the water is what brings families to Blue Lake. A buoy line marks the swimming area. For the adventurous, the Blue Lake Crag is a 25-metre-high rock face which people climb.

Blue Lake offers a range of car camping opportunities, from pull-through sites to tent campsites. Half of the campsites offer electrical hook-up. Amenities like water taps, comfort stations, and laundry facilities are nearby. The beach and the Visitor Centre are only a short distance away.

Blue Lake has two group campsites. The sites can accommodate 40 to 140 people. Water taps are nearby, and vault toilets are on-site or nearby. A beach borders the group camping area. Both sites offer electrical hookups.

There are also six trailer-equipped campsites for rent.

You can call to reserve at 1-888-ONT-PARK (1-888-668-7275) or reserve a campsite at Blue Lake Park online.

There are three hiking trails in the park.

Boulder Ridge Trail is a 1 km easy terrain trail through a jack pine forest. Learn how forest fires affect ecology as you walk through the forest.

Rock Point Trail is a 4 km moderate terrain trail that takes about 2 hours to complete. It follows the height of land between Blue and Langdon Lakes past mature white cedars.

Spruce Fen Trail is a 1 km easy terrain, barrier-free trail. Follow the boardwalk to a spruce fen, a wetland covered with a mat of floating plants. Interpretive stops along the way explain fen ecology.

Beach activities anyone? The gradual slope of the beach makes it easy access.
