Maynard Lake Lodge is accessible only by float plane on the renowned English River System, 50 air miles northeast of Kenora, Ontario, Canada. Our rustic, comfortable lodge is the only one on the lake and provides a remote fishing and hunting experience for up to thirty guests on truly unspoiled waters. Providing both lake and river fishing, Maynard Lake can be successfully fished whether casting, trolling, drifting or still fishing. The choice is yours.
From bays and beaches to rapids and falls, Maynard Lake has the structure and current to provide "spring fishing" throughout our season; mid-May through September. Here, experienced and novice anglers alike catch plenty of fish, even on slow days. Most do fine with artificial lures, jigs, spoons, spinners and crankbait. Live bait (minnows and leeches) are available for purchase at the lodge.
We want your trip to be a success. Upon arrival, we will show you where to fish, what to use and how to use it. YOU WILL CATCH FISH! For those who wish, we have professional guides available, trained not only for fishing but for service as well.

- American Plan Lodge: Maynard Lake is an American Plan Lodge. Our plan includes coffee at your doorstep, a hearty breakfast, shore lunch and an all you can eat family style dinner.
- Outpost: Experience the adventure of a truly Canadian experience at our fly-in outpost on Maynard Lake.
- Walleye: Canadian wilderness fishing at its finest when you spend your walleye fishing trip on Maynard Lake. Walleye are plentiful and range in all sizes.
- Muskie: Maynard Lake Lodge offers a great muskie fishing destination providing some of the best action in Northwestern Ontario.
- Northern Pike: When you fly into Maynard Lake Lodge you will not be disappointed. Great fishing that awaits you where northern pike in the 40" range are common.
- Smallmouth Bass: For a change of pace while fishing at our resort, fish for smallmouth bass on Bass Lake, a small lake teeming with smallmouth bass up to six pounds.
- Moose: The Maynard Lake area is renowned for its trophy moose and holds some of the largest records for moose shot in Ontario. At Maynard, we take only three hunters per year.
- Black Bear: Maynard Lake Lodge's bear management area is a huge tract of land surrounding us and has been virtually unhunted for years.
- Grouse: For a hunting trip to Maynard Lake for fall fishing, combine both fishing and grouse hunting, or plan your bear or moose hunt with your bird hunt.
