Sioux Narrows Bridge

Located on Highway 71, Sioux Narrows Bridge was the longest single-span wooden bridge in North America. The bridge was built in the mid-1930s and spans 210 feet across the narrows of Lake of the Woods. The Sioux Narrows Bridge was claimed as a Provincial Heritage Site. When the bridge needed to be upgraded for durability and safety, much of the timber from the first created bridge was preserved as possible. The statues beautiful upper layer of wood you see today is from the original.
