Rushing River Park is a popular park on Dogtooth Lake, just 20 minutes from Kenora. Rushing River has 217 campsites, 75 of which have electrical service. Restroom and shower facilities are conveniently located in the campgrounds.
There is a Visitor Centre, Park Store with souvenirs and firewood, a boat launch, canoe, waterbikes and kayaks rentals for 3 days or more (short-term canoe rental available at the store outside the park).
There are 3 hiking trails ranging from .5 to 2 kms long. Park staff offer guided walks on park trails, outdoor amphitheatre programs, special activities and events about Rushing River's natural heritage. Fish for walleye, pike, smallmouth bass and lake trout.
From this park, you can access to six canoe routes ranging in length from 32 to 103 km. Early spring and late fall are the seasons when you will most likely see black bears, moose and deer and the smaller red foxes, weasels, mink and otters. Sixty species of birds also live here, including great blue herons, loons, nighthawks, belted kingfishers, Canada jays and various waterfowl.
Cruise the waters in your own boat or rent one from facilities nearby. You can launch your boat from two ramps located in the park. Four sandy beaches provide excellent swimming areas, all of which have a shallow roped-off section, ideal for children. In the winter, there are 16 kms of groomed cross-country ski trails range in difficulty from easy to challenging.
