View a 50 metre wide gorge and sheer cliffs that drop 100 metres straight down!

Visit Ouimet Canyon Park, just northeast of Thunder Bay in Dorian Township. Ouimet Canyon has spectacular panoramic views of a 150 ft wide gorge with cliffs that are 100 m tall. This canyon has been formed by ice, wind and rain.

At the park, there is a loop walkway with both boardwalks and trails. Platforms on the trail overlook stunning views of the canyon. Bird watching and hiking are two popular activities at Ouimet Canyon Park. There are neotropical bird species in the park as well as birds species who live in the Boreal forest all year round.

This park is for day use only, and is open from May to October. A small store is located at the trailhead of Ouimet Canyon, for your convenience. There is a picnic area by the main parking lot, so don't forget to pack a lunch!
