Fort Frances Museum

Why You'll Love It

The Fort Frances Museum & Cultural Centre is located in the heart of downtown Fort Frances, only two doors down from our brand new Rainy Lake Square.  Local exhibits incorporating artifacts from our collection reflect the history, culture, and growth of the area with specific themes around our first people, the fur trade, pioneers, and forestry.  Originally built in 1898 as a schoolhouse, the museum was recently refurbished to ensure accessibility and incorporate programming that is interactive, thus welcoming to visitors of all ages and interests.  If visiting in July or August, plan on joining us for Market Thursdays where specialty teas and homemade scones are served upstairs!

Admission to the Museum includes our heritage sites, a logging tugboat, and lookout tower, located on the waterfront overlooking the beautiful Rainy River.
