Fri Jul 4 Castin for Cash @ Lake Despair Lodge
Try the first Catch & Release live bass tournament of the year at Castin’ for Cash at Lake Despair Lodge with Bill & Nell Godin as your hosts. There are 50-60 teams fishing for the $5,000 first-place prize on the Lake Despair, Footprint and Jackfish chain of lakes. The payback goes to 12-15 teams depending upon entries, as well as large fish each day + numerous other prizes. There is only 1 all-female team who have fished this tourney for the past 5 years! There are a number of male/female teams as well as father/son, father/daughter, grandfather/grandson teams, etc. We also sponsor youth fishing. All those fishing 15 years and under receive a special gift. Over the years, they have received gifts such as fishing rods, reels, tackle boxes/tackle, gift cards, etc. We love to see future anglers learning from the more seasoned anglers!
Your entry fee includes a full hot supper on Friday. In the past, it has been: roast pork, mashed potatoes, gravy, kernel corn, pickles, coleslaw, dinner rolls & dessert! These dinners are also available to the public for $12/plate. There is also a food booth and refreshments on sight. Saturday night also includes entertainment. Each morning at the dock coffee, water, cookies & donuts are provided for all anglers. Come and cheer on your favourite team!
