8th Street Walking and Ski Trail
Take a relaxing stroll, a hike, snowshoe or cross-country skiing in some of Fort France’s more natural beauty. These trails cut through clearings and wooded areas in north Fort Frances, offering some very scenic views. Make sure to watch out for the woodcarvings and other handmade pieces donated by local artisans to the trails.
Lappe Nordic Ski Centre
Lappe Nordic Ski Club is a family-friendly, volunteer-based ski club focused on recreation, fitness, skill development, and racing. We offer programs for all levels, from the 4+ Bunny to the 50+ Master. Lappe Nordic Ski Club has a program for you whether you are a novice, an intermediate, or a racing skier.
Mount Evergreen Ski & Recreation Area
The Mount Evergreen Ski Club in Kenora has a lot to offer. Operating since 1946, the Club is well run and the hills are well groomed. It has many runs including 5 black diamond runs, a Terrain Park, a tubing hill and even has a Magic Carpet lift for the little ones or beginners. There are over 20 kms of beautiful cross country ski trails that offer both classic and skate skiers the chance to experience the magnificent Canadian Boreal Forest. All trails are groomed for classic skiing and almost 7 km of trails also accommodate skate skiing. The chalet is a great place to warm up, take a break and have a bite to eat. Ski rentals are also available.
Mink Bay Trail
The Mink Bay Trail is located in the Keewatin area and offers a trail system with a view of Mink Bay Wetlands, Portage Bay and Lake of the Woods. The trail includes a grassy and well-worn forest trail, coupled with sidewalks and green spaces through Keewatin’s business district The Mink Bay trail is just over four kilometres of easy to moderate trails (with alternate routes moderate to high difficulty) ideal for hiking, biking, skiing and snowshoeing.
